High-quality trains on North-South route launched
Update: Jan 27, 2016
SE7 and SE8 high-quality trains were inaugurated at a ceremony held at Sai Gon Station on January 26 after nine months of upgrades with a total investment of VND65 billion (US$2.9 million).

The newly-upgraded trains comprise 59 carriages featuring hard seats, hard sleepers, soft seats, soft sleepers and a cafeteria serving food and drinks for passengers. They are the most modern and rapid trains with convenient facilities and comfortable interiors.

Despite the investment, the Saigon Railway Transport Company has not raised the rail fares, but rather cut them by 15% to attract more passengers.

The trains’ terminals include Ha Noi, Phu Ly, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Cho Sy, Vinh, Yen Trung, Huong Pho, Dong Le, Minh Le, Dong Hoi, Dong Ha, Hue, Da Nang, Tam Ky, Quang Ngai, Dieu Tri, Tuy Hoa, Ninh Hoa, Nha Trang, Thap Cham, Binh Thuan, Long Khanh, Bien Hoa and Sai Gon.
