Art program to celebrate 500 years of Viet Nam – Portugal friendship

(TITC) - In the two days of 13 and 14 July in Lisbon, Portugal, Vietnamese Embassy in Portugal organized solemnly an art program to celebrate 500 years of Viet Nam – Portugal friendship (1516-2016).

The program had the attendances of Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Son - Ambassador of Viet Nam in France and concurrently in Portugal, representative of Vietnamese Cultural Centre in France, and Portuguese and international delegates.

In the framework of the program, many excellent art items were performed by Vietnamese artists to introduce Vietnamese traditional culture quintessences to international delegates, typically solos of dan bau (monochord), dan nhi (two-stringed violin), t’rung, ​​flute; conical hat dancing; Chau Van singing...

The trade relation between Viet Nam and Portugal was formed in 1516, when the first Portuguese navigators arrived in Hoi An to trade. In 1975, Viet Nam and Portugal established the diplomatic ties. During more than 40 years, the two countries always maintain good exchange and cooperation relationships in various fields. This art program is a demonstration of the solidarity, friendship and cooperation between the two countries. This is also an important mark to contribute to creating a breakthrough in bilateral relations between Viet Nam and Portugal in the next time.
