Ho Chi Minh City: Cultural events to celebrate Viet Nam - Thailand ties

A series of cultural exchange events took place at Ho Chi Minh City Youth Culture House on August 14 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Viet Nam - Thailand diplomatic relations (August 6, 1976).

The events were co-organised by the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO), the Viet Nam-Thailand Friendship Organisation in HCM City, and the Consulate General of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City, attracting the two countries’ students and business communities.

A photo exhibition was held to tell the history of the Viet Nam-Thailand diplomatic ties and depict the beauty of Thai people and itslandscapes.

A concert also took place with a number of unique folk performances of the two nations alongside a fashion show of Thai costumes and Thai cuisine and tourism promotional events.

The events aimed to strengthen the mutual understanding and solidarity between the two peoples, President of the Viet Nam-Thailand Friendship Organisation Truong Hoang said.

Bilateral relations have been growing strong in all fields and Viet Nam regards Thailand as a crucial strategic partner in the region, he noted, adding that Viet Nam wants to intensify the comprehensive co-operation with its ASEAN peer.
