(TITC) - On January 18, the opening ceremony of ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2017 took place in Singapore with the presence of Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Secretary General of ASEAN Le Luong Minh. Vietnamese delegation led by Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr. Le Khanh Hai attended the ceremony.
ATF - the biggest annual event of ASEAN tourism cooperation is organized alternately among the member countries since its inauguration in Malaysia in 1981.
In 2017, the ATF with the theme “Shaping our Tourism Journey Together” is hosted in Singapore with the aim of promoting the association of the ASEAN region and utilizing opportunities to further boost the growth of ASEAN tourism.
In the framework of the ATF 2017, a series of important activities will be held from January 16-20, including the 45th Meeting of ASEAN National Tourism Organizations (ASEAN NTOs) and related meetings; the 20th Meeting of ASEAN Tourism Ministers and related meetings; TRAVEX, etc.
At the ceremony, the campaign “Visit ASEAN@50” celebrating the 50th anniversary of ASEAN (1967-2017) was also launched.
