Recreating old Tet in Ha Noi’s Old Quarter

(TITC) - To preserve and honor the typical cultural values of the traditional Vietnamese Tet (Lunar New Year Festival), Management Board of Ha Noi’s Old Quarter organizes the program “Vietnamese Tet” from 19 January to 12 February 2017. The opening ceremony was held at 15h00 on 19 January 2017 in Kim Ngan Communal House (42-44 Hang Bac Street).

The program “Vietnamese Tet” in Ha Noi’s Old Quarter includes many diversified activities such as exhibition of three folk painting types of Hang Trong, Kim Hoang and Dong Ho in Kim Ngan Communal House; photo exhibition on old Tet and experience of old Tet space of Ha Noi’s family in Heritage House (87 Ma May Street); performances of calligraphy, folk painting and exhibition on traditional art products in Old Quarter Heritage Information Centre (28 Hang Buom Street), arrangement of old Tet space in a traditional house of Red River Delta in Old Quarter Culture Exchange Centre (50 Dao Duy Tu Street), etc.

Besides, the Management Board of Ha Noi’s Old Quarter will also organize the traditional music performance programs at 20h00-22h00 from 29 January to 1 February 2017 in Kim Ngan Communal House, Dong Lac Communal House (38 Hang Dao Street), Old Quarter Heritage Information Centre, Phuc Kien Assembly Hall (40 Lan Ong Street).

The program “Vietnamese Tet” in Ha Noi's Old Quarter is expected to create the attractive and meaningful Tet space for local people and visitors.
