“Viet Nam - a new destination for blockbusters” campaign in Cannes

(TITC) – From 16 to 26 May, Viet Nam film industry attended the 70th annual Cannes Film Festival and organized Vietnamese movie week in Spain.

The Viet Nam Cinema Department officially attended Cannes Film Festival for the first time. At the event, Viet Nam booth was arranged to display films, promotion publications about film locations, images of country and people of Viet Nam during the film festival. The film delegation welcomed international film producers and publishers, film festival organizers, media agencies and those who were interested in Viet Nam film and tourism.

The special event called “Viet Nam Night” presented the successful films of Viet Nam including “Dao cua dan ngu cu” (The Way Station), “Vo ba” (The Third Wife), “Vi” (Taste) and “Con culi khong biet khoc” (Sloth Monkey Never Cries); introduced Viet Nam as a new destination for blockbusters and destinations such as Trang An Complex, Ha Long Bay, Son Doong Cave; introduced Viet Nam cuisine to international visitors. The photo of these film locations were printed in the big pano, displayed in front of Majestic Barriere Hotel, to opposite of Palais des Festivals.

On the sidelines of the festival, the Vietnam Cinema Department also signed a memorandum of cooperation with France’s National Centre for Cinema and the Moving Image in order to boost the close relationship between two countries in film industry.
