Accordingly, the Government will spend over VND30 trillion on major localities for regional tourism development, localities with destinations and routes defined in the overall plan for nation’s tourism development by 2020, with a vision to 2030; in which it will give priority to poor ones.

The program aims to develop comprehensive modern infrastructure systems in order to boost tourism attraction, and draw foreign and domestic investment into national tourist areas, contributing to turning tourism into a key economic sector of Viet Nam.

Specifically, by 2020, it strives to ensure comprehensive and modern infrastructure for 3-5 national tourist areas and provide financial resources to support tourism infrastructure development for another 30 sites.

For newly-built projects in the 2016-2020 period, Central budget will consider and provide 100% of total investment approved by the authority.
