Multiple activities to welcome Tet in Hue

The Hue Monuments Conservation Center has announced a variety of cultural and entertainment programs will be made available in the Hue heritage area, also known as the former Hue Imperial Citadel in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue to kick off the festive atmosphere of the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.

Multiple activities will be held in the citadel area during the upcoming Tet holiday

A traditional cay neu (Tet bamboo pole) planting ceremony to herald the approaching Tet holiday will take place on the 23rd of the last lunar month at The Mieu Temple dedicated to worshiping the Nguyen Dynasty’s kings and Long An Temple.

In addition, there will be a “Huong xua banh Tet” (Old atmosphere of Tet traditional cakes) program following the sacred ceremony, featuring a Hue royal music performance, folk games, calligraphy performance and banh chung and banh tet wrapping contest.

Furthermore, the center is getting ready to organize several activities at the royal palace such as royal ceremony and music performances, folk games, dragon and lion dances, traditional martial art performance to meet expectations of tourists during the first three days of the lunar new year.
