The province, home to the World Heritage site Ha Long bay, will host the National Tourism Year 2018 themed “Ha Long - Heritage, Wonder, Friendly Destination” with more than 50 cultural, sporting and tourism events.

Currently, Quang Ninh focuses on developing four tourism types, including sea and island tourism, cultural and spiritual tourism, community tourism and border tourism. Together with attractive tourism products, the quality of services, tourism infrastructure and transport at tourism areas have been improved. Festivals such as Yen Tu, Ngoa Van pagoda, Cua Ong temple, and cherry blossom and Yen Tu apricot attracted a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.

This year, the locality expects to receive about 12 million tourists, including five million foreigners, grossing a turnover of VND22 trillion.
