Leading tourism enterprises won Viet Nam Tourism Awards 2018

(TITC) – On the occasion of the 58th anniversary of Viet Nam's tourism sector (July 9, 1960-2017), on 9 July, in Ha Noi, the winners of Viet Nam Tourism Awards 2018 were honored at a ceremony held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The ceremony had the attendance of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.  

It is the most prestigious annual award of Viet Nam Tourism which was first held in 1999. The award aims to honor leading enterprises which make significant contribution to tourism development, improve tourism service quality, diversify tourism products, strengthen international integration and promote Viet Nam tourism.


Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien

In his speech, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien highly valued significant performance of tourism sector in 58 years of development. In the last 3 years, international visitors to Viet Nam increased by nearly 30% per year.  In 2017, Viet Nam welcomed 12.9 million international arrivals, rising 26.1% over 2016. International visitors to Viet Nam in the first 6 months of 2018 reached approximately 7.9 million arrivals, up 27.2% over the same period last year.

Especially, the Minister praised the efforts and contribution of business community to the development of Viet Nam tourism.

The Minister emphasized, in the coming time, the tourism sector should fully tap potentials and advantages of natural, cultural and human resources to attract international visitors.


Winners of the writing contest “Viet Nam – Timeless Charm”

At the ceremony, Viet Nam Tourism Awards were given to 15 leading five-star hotels, 15 leading four-star hotels, 10 leading inbound tour operators, 10 leading domestic tour operators, 5 leading tourist automobile carriers, 10 leading restaurants, 5 leading tourist attractions, 10 leading golf courses, and 5 leading tourism investment groups.

The Organizing board also announced 12 winners of the writing contest  “Viet Nam – Timeless Charm”, which was launched from October 2017 with the theme “I love Viet Nam”.
