Seminar on Vietnam tourism- Reopen international tourism safely

(TITC) - On November 21, in Phu Quoc City (Kien Giang Province), Tuoi Tre Newspaper cooperated with related units to organize the seminar on “Vietnam tourism - Reopen international tourism safely”. Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) attended the event.

Mr. Le Xuan Trung, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Newspaper, said that Vietnam started to reopen international tourism through the event to welcome international tourists to Phu Quoc on November 20. It a signal shows the recovery of the world economy in 2022, including Vietnam's tourism industry.

The seminar was the chance for tourism management agencies, tourism businesses and airlines to propose suggestions to open the door confidently, safely and effectively.

Businesses have prepared the best conditions to welcome international tourists

Mr. Do Xuan Quang, Vice President of Vietjet Air shared that in the context of the aviation industry being greatly affected by the pandemic, Vietjet prepared the recovery plan. Vietjet also has experience in pandemic prevention, ensuring the safety of passengers, creating a comfortable feeling on Vietjet flights. From now until the late 2021, Vietjet will have about 25-30 flights connecting some international markets to Phu Quoc and to other localities such as Nha Trang, Da Nang...

Ms. Le Thi Thu Trang, General Director of Vinpearl Discovery & VinOasis said that Vinpearl currently owns three Southeast Asia’s largest-scale complexes in Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, and Da Nang - South Hoi An with the all-inclusive model of "one stop destination" that provide complete vacation experiences with diverse activities, suitable for all people, approaching the world trends.

Vinpearl has kept connection with domestic and international travels, tourism partners. Vinpearl has a sustainable strategic cooperation agreement with internal airlines including Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air and Bamboo Airways.

Mr. Truong Duc Hung from Saigontourist Group said the business kicked off many inner-city tourism programs to serve the trade tourists to “green areas" including Phu Quoc (Kien Giang) following safety regulations to prevent Covid-19.

Expanding localities to welcome international tourists, enhancing communication

About roadmap to reopen international tourism in Vietnam, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued provisional guidance on piloting to welcome international tourists to Vietnam. The scope of application will be expanded in early 2022, localities that actively propose and meet the prescribed conditions will be considered to welcome international tourists.

VNAT has developed a communication plan with the theme "Live fully in Vietnam" and connected with international media agencies, oversea Vietnamese diplomatic missions to promote communication plans, ensuring updated information to international tourists.

In 2022, VNAT will organize Vietnam tourism booths at major international fairs, in conjunction with businesses to organize roadshows to promote Vietnam's tourism...

It is an urgent need to open up tourism, towards fully open international tourism

Speaking at the seminar, VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh affirmed that media will be the bridge to widely spread information and images of Vietnam tourism.

The event welcoming international visitors to Phu Quoc is an exciting signal for Vietnam's tourism industry, toward to fully open in future. The event was organized successfully with the cooperation and connection of travel businesses, airlines, accommodation, service businesses...

He emphasized that in order to reopen safely and effectively international tourism, it is necessary to have all four factors: vaccines, 5K, digital application, and communication. Localities and businesses need to ensure safety at destinations and tourist sites, diversify tourism products, and strengthen information and communication.
