The exhibition, part of Creativity Week 2021 launched by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports in late December, showcases images of the thousand-year-old capital - a Creative City recognized by UNESCO.

Christian Manhart, representative of UNESCO in Vietnam, said the event shows that Hanoi is nurtured by creative people, even by people who do not live here.

As a newcomer to Hanoi, he said the exhibition's artworks with diverse emotions and colors make him feel closer, more connected and eager to explore the city.

Thierry Vergon, director of L’Espace in Hanoi, emphasised that a creative city must nurture creative artist communities, support the cultural industry, and create a network and space in order to allow artists to unleash their creativity.

The international community is ready to accompany Hanoi to develop its culture and turn creativity into one of the top priorities as part of its development strategy, he said.

“Hanoi là.....” is also part of the Ha Noi Rethink project implemented by UNESCO, UN-Habitat, and UNIDO, sponsored by SOVICO Group to support the capital in realising its Creative City vision in the fields of designs and cultural heritage preservation, with the engagement of young people.

The exhibition is open to public free of charge from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Mondays to Saturdays at L'Espace, 24 Trang Tien Street.
