The event attracted the participation of over 30 localities, relevant agencies, and businesses that came to put their tourism, handicraft, and agricultural products on display at over 50 booths.

Furthermore, a photo exhibition was also held in a bid to introduce the array of beautiful landscapes and unique cultural characteristics of the ethnic minorities residing in Dien Bien province.

Nguyen Minh Phu, director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said the function aims to contribute to preserving the cultural identities of the ethnic groups, whilst simultaneously providing an ideal venue for local enterprises to promote tourism potential and typical agricultural and handicraft products.

The occasion will also help to strengthen linkages among provinces, cities, and travel firms in developing tourism products and programmes for tourists.

The event is expected to run until the end of March 14.
