Further restoration of My Son Sanctuary

 Several new projects on My Son Sanctuary restoration are being implemented in 2023 in hope of the revival of this unique heritage.

Opportunity for tower F1

It is planned that an expert delegation from India will have a field trip to My Son Sanctuary (Quang Nam province) at the end of April 2023.

They will conduct a survey to access the reality of tower group F, especially tower F1, then making budget estimates to submit to the Government before the restoration project is set up.

F1 tower

The F tower group includes two towers, F1 and F2. F1 tower is seriously damaged and protected by an iron frame with roof.

Reportedly, at the handover ceremony of the project on tower group A,H,K preservation and restoration in December 2022, Subhash Prasad Gupta - Deputy Chief of Mission for India in Vietnam stated that the Government of India will support Vietnam in the conservation and restoration of the F tower group in My Son Sanctuary, Dong Duong Buddhist monastery, and the Nhan tower in Phu Yen province.

According to Dang Ngoc Khanh - Director of the Institute of Monument Conservation under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, tower F1 in My Son Sanctuary needs urgent restoration.

The F1 tower restoration is a large project; therefore, it is a good opportunity when the restoration is funded by the Government of India.

Revival of My Son Sanctuary

My Son Sanctuary has gradually been covered with a new appearance after a lot of towers and tower groups was preserved and restored.

The preservation and restoration of towers and tower groups in My Son Sanctuary has enlarged the space for tourism. So, there are more and more visitors to this site.

D1 and D2 towers

Besides the project on tower-group-F preservation and restoration, Indian experts are planning to restore tower groups E and A’ in the period of 2025-2030.

In the period of 2023-2024, D1 and D2 towers will be restored. These two towers were repaired in the 90s of the 20th century but are now downgraded. The project costs about VND 6 billion.
