Delicious street food in Hoi An
Update: Aug 17, 2012
Tourists to the ancient town of Hoi An can easily find restaurants majoring in Western and Vietnamese foods. However, to make your trip to the town more interesting, tourists are advised to spend their time tasting some good quality street food.

For savory treats, people can try barbeque meat, hot vit lon (fetal duck egg), Quang noodles and hen xuc banh da (mussels served with dry pancake) priced from VND25,000. These foods are sold at a busy area near Cau Bridge which is along the Hoai River bank.

Tourists are welcomed by enthusiastic young sellers to sample the delights at some small and short tables set up on the pavements. For people with a sweet tooth, they can try tofu, green bean baked cake and lotus sweet soup priced from VND10,000 and sold by old ladies. Some vendors also have their banners written in English to advertise to foreign tourists.

Especially, vendors are aware to keep the environment clean by not throwing leftovers in the river or onto the streets.

Tourists can both enjoy their meal and admire tourist boats or local people’s junk boats gently flowing on the Hoai River in front of their eyes. If tourists are lucky enough, they might be offered a good deal with a 30-minute boat trip for two sometimes priced at only VND100,000.
