Update: Feb 07, 2014
As many as 60,000 tourists, including nearly 41,000 foreign visitors visited imperial Hue’s relics in the central province of Thua Thien–Hue during the first three days of Tet (the Lunar New Year)-the Year of the Horse.

The day between January 31 to February 2 saw high-end hotels almost filled to capacity with over 90 percent occupancy. The whole province now has 526 lodging facilities with some 10,000 rooms.

Besides discovering more about Vietnam’s Tet festival, the visitors had a large choice of traditional Vietnamese dishes to enjoy, adding to the festive atmosphere in Vietnam’s ancient capital.

According to the Hue Relics Preservation Centre (HRPC), the tourists had an opportunity to join the Lunar New Year’s Eve party, receive gifts and enjoy Tet feasts, such as the performance of Nha Nhac at the Duyet Thi Duong Theatre, marital art.

As in past years, HRPC will offer free entrance into Hue Citadel (Dai Noi), An Dinh Palace and all imperial tombs between the first and third days of the traditional New Year.

The New Year activities have also included huge floral displays, demonstrations of Sea God worship and art exhibitions across the city and nine other districts of the province.
