Groundbreaking for President Ho Chi Minh Monument in Hanoi

On March 17, the groundbreaking ceremony for President Ho Chi Minh Monument in K9-Da Chong historical site took place in Ba Vi district, Hanoi.

The K9-Da Chong historical site was the place where President Ho Chi Minh worked with top officials and received foreign visitors during the resistance war against the US.

President Ho Chi Minh’s remains were safely preserved here during the war following his death.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said the monument will hold historical and political significance, and introduce to visitors the revolutionary life of President Ho Chi Minh, as well as his contributions to the revolutionary cause of the nation.

The construction is scheduled to be completed on May 19, 2015 to mark the 125th anniversary of the birth of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19).
