VNAT organized survey program of Mekong Delta tourism

(TITC) – In order to boost linking for development of Mekong Delta’s tourism products, Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) organized survey program of Mekong Delta from 19th to 26th March 2014.

In attendance were about 80 representatives of VNAT, Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of 13 provinces in Mekong Delta and of Ho Chi Minh City, Mekong Delta Tourism Association, tourism businesses…

From Ho Chi Minh City, the delegation surveyed tourism products in some provinces and cities of Mekong Delta, namely Tien Giang, Dong Thap, An Giang, Kien Giang, Ca Mau and Can Tho. Specifically, the delegation visited such potential destinations as Rach Gam – Xoai Mut historical relic (Tien Giang), Xeo Quyt revolutionary base (Dong Thap), Tra Su indigo forest, Sam Mountain, Chau Doc market (An Giang), Mui Nai, Hon Chong in Ha Tien, U Minh Thuong National Park (Kien Giang), U Minh Ha National Park (Ca Mau), Binh Thuy ancient house (Can Tho)…

The highlight of the program was a workshop on "Linking for development of Mekong Delta’s typical tourism products" which was organized on 26th March 2014 at Can Tho.

Through the survey and workshop, participants offered proposals to focus on improving tourism infrastructure and facilities and develop typical tourism products. They also mentioned solutions to connect tourist spots, routes; strengthen linking for product development and promote Mekong Delta’s tourism.
