World heritage in Japan to be introduced in Hanoi

A photo exhibition entitled “World Heritage in Japan” will be held at the Japan Foundation Centre for Cultural Exchange in Hanoi from July 26 to August 9.

The exhibition will introduce a photo collection of Kazuyoshi Miyoshi that features the world outstanding natural and cultural heritage in Japan added to UNESCO’s world heritage list.

They include “Shirakami-Sanchi Mountain Range”, “Yaku-shima Island”, “Himeji-jo Castle” and the “Buddhist monuments of the Horyu-ji Temple Area”, which were recognised in 1993.

“Genbaku Dome”, “Itsukushima-jinja Shrine”, the “Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara”, the “Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto (Kyoto City, Uji City and Otsu City)”, the “Gassho-zukuri Villages of Shirakawa-go and Gokayama” and the “Shrines and Temples of Nikko”, recognised between 1994 and 1999, will be also on display.

Born in 1958 in Tokushima Prefecture, Kazuyoshi Miyoshi has won many awards and his photos are now exhibited in a number of museums in the world.
