Seminar on “Promoting Viet Nam destination towards Scandinavian countries”

(TITC)- On the occasion of welcoming the Scandinavian famtrip delegation to Viet Nam, the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) hold the seminar on “Promoting Viet Nam destination towards Scandinavian countries” in Ha Noi, on 18 November 2014.

The event had the attendance of Deputy Director General of VNAT Nguyen Quoc Hung, leaders of VNAT’s Departments and travel companies of both sides.

Speaking at the seminar, Deputy Director Nguyen Quoc Hung said Scandinavian countries are important partners of Viet Nam in economic and social development and key source markets of Viet Nam tourism. Since May 1, 2005, tourists coming from Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland to Viet Nam have officially exempted from visa for a period not more than 15 days.

Recently, the number of Scandinavian tourists to Viet Nam has been increasing. In the first 10 month of 2014, Viet Nam welcomed 80,000 Scandinavian arrivals including 23,339 (Denmark), 19,240 (Norway), 26,077 (Sweden) and 11,159 (Finland).

The seminar was a chance to introduce Viet Nam’s tourist destinations and products to Scandinavian travel companies contributing to increasing tourists flow between the two sides.

Representatives of Scandinavian travel companies said their clients highly appreciated Viet Nam with its original and unique beauty, delicious food and the friendship and hospitality of Vietnamese people. In addition, they also expected to expand cooperation with Viet Nam’s tourism businesses. In the coming time, they suggested Viet Nam to invest in developing infrastructure while ensuring natural beauty preservation; enhancing tourism promotion,  human resources training and services quality improvement.
