VNAT disseminates ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan 2016 – 2025 and tourism integration related issues

(TITC) – On 30 March 2016, in Ha Noi, Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) organized the conference on dissemination of ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan 2016 - 2025 and tourism integration related issues.
Overview of the conference

This was a forum for managers, policymakers, experts and businesses to share experiences, identify new opportunities and challenges in the integration process of Viet Nam. The conference provides practical information for the management, planning and operation of the stakeholders in the sector, especially tourism enterprises.

Deputy Director General of VNAT Ha Van Sieu speaks at the conference

In his opening speech, Deputy Director General of VNAT Ha Van Sieu informed that ASEAN Tourism Ministers officially announced ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan 2016 - 2025 at ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2016 in Philippines. ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan 2016 - 2025 focuses on developing ASEAN tourism on base of unique values of member countries while ensuring responsibility, sustainability and balance. He hoped that the participants would fully understand opportunities and challenges in the new context in order to actively integrate into the world’s tourism.

The conference focuses on the contents of ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan 2016 - 2025; Project for strengthening ASEAN Economic Community integration in the field of tourism; implementation of Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals (MRA-TP); Viet Nam’s commitments in terms of tourism in the framework of WTO, AEC and Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP).

The participants agreed that Viet Nam tourism should continue to enhance cooperation between public and private sectors, promote the active role of the private sector and improve the competitiveness.
