Update: Sep 22, 2008
Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Mitsuo Sakaba on September 21, 2008 joined officials and deaf students from Central Highlands Lam Dong province in planting cherry blossom trees at the resort city of Da Lat.
This was one of the activities to mark the 35th anniversary of the Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties.

The 35 trees were imported by Hisamitsu Company of Japan and Vietnam’s Phan Gia Company.

According to the organising board of Da Lat’s programme to plant Japanese cherry blossom, the Phan Gia Company plans to buy more cherry blossom trees from Japan to plant them around Xuan Huong Lake.
