First tourists cycle to Ha Long Bay

A group of cycling foreign tourists started their four-day visit to Ha Long Bay in the northern province of Quang Ninh on October 21, 2008.

The tourists, including 16 Americans and 4 Chinese, entered Vietnam from China and traveled by bicycle to Ha Long, Hanoi and Hai Phong city.

They are expected to spend 4 days visiting Ha Long Bay and Tuan Chau International Tourism and Recreation Resort before cycling on to Hanoi and Hai Phong.

Ha Long Tourism Joint Stock company plans to expand into this new type of tour which favoured by US and European tourists.

Quang Ninh province, home to the world Heritage site of Ha Long Bay, has welcomed 3.8 million visitors so far this year, up to 24 percent from one year ago .
