Danang tourism meets ahead of schedule
Update: Dec 11, 2008
The Danang Culture, Sports and Tourism Department has reported that the city has attracted nearly 1.2 million tourists since early this year, an 18 percent increase against 2007.

In spite of suffering from impacts from the world economic crisis, the number of tourists to Danang continued to increase in 2008. Foreign tourists increased by 40 percent, while domestic tourists increased by 9 percent against 2007’s figures. Total tourism turnover reached an estimated VND 810 billion, a 30 percent rise against 2007, and 8 percent above the yearly target.

With many advantages, such as a beautiful natural location and high-end resorts such as Furama and Sandy Beach, Danang is increasingly becoming attractive to both foreign and domestic tourists.

For 2009, the city has set a target of attracting 1.53 million tourists. To achieve this target, and also to become a national service and tourism center, the city is putting all its efforts into promotion and advertisement activities.

In 2009, Danang tourism will focus on several major markets such as Thailand, the US, Japan, Australia, France and China.
