Vietnamese culture spotlighted in UK
Update: Feb 22, 2009
An impressive gala night featuring the Vietnamese culture was hosted by Vietnamese students at the UK’s Birmingham University on February 20.

Opening the “Vietnamese Culture Night 2009” was a documentary directed by the students themselves that focuses on Vietnam’s past struggle for national independence and its current construction and development process.

The hosts entertained foreign friends with a series of traditional and folk dances. An amateur performance of Vietnamese traditional dress won the applause from the guests.

The night became more animated when the visitors witnessed with their own eyes Vietnam’s folk games and were invited to taste specialties originated from all regions of the country.

Head of the Vietnamese Students Society in Birmingham, Nguyen Phuong Anh said this year marks the fourth time that the association has organised the event, with an aim to introduce the country’s most outstanding cultural characters to international friends.
