Update: Jun 28, 2009
Vietnam’s second Family Festival opened in Hanoi on June 25 with the 54 outstanding families from across the country taking part.

The event aims to preserve, promote and honour Vietnam’s traditional family values.

Addressing the ceremony, the vice minister of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Huynh Vinh Ai emphasized that the festival offers an opportunity for families to share their experiences in creating successful families during the industrialization and modernization period and in the context of international integration.

The event is just one of many activities to prepare for the celebration of the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.

The event, which will last until June 29, was co-organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hanoi People’s Committee, the Vietnam Women’s Union and the Vietnam Elderly Association.
