Numerous celebrations to mark Hanoi’s liberation day
Update: Oct 07, 2009
Numerous activities, including cultural and arts exhibitions, and performances will be organized from the afternoon of October 8 to 18 at the Hanoi ancient citadel relic to mark the 999th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi and the 55th liberation day of the capital city (October 10).

An exhibition of 600 artefacts dating back to the early days of the capital city will help visitors get a clear picture of how Hanoi was founded and grew into “a royal capital of all generations”.

Meanwhile, artisans from Hanoi and its neighbouring provinces will put over 300 ornamental plants on show.

On this occasion, a drum performance, an incense offering ceremony, and an exhibition of fine arts and handicraft products from traditional craft villages will be also organized.

Performances of ca tru ceremonial singing will be held on October 10 and 18 at the site to introduce to the public the traditional art which has just been recognised as a world cultural heritage in need of urgent protection by UNESCO.
