Photo exhibition celebrates army
Update: Dec 21, 2009
An exhibition celebrating the 65th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People’s Army has opened at Lam Son Park near HCMC’s Opera House.

The Xung Danh Bo Doi Cu Ho (Deserve to be Uncle Ho’s Soldiers) exhibit features 104 colour and black-and-white photos related to victories during the war against American and French, and to the soldiers’ love of their country.

The exhibition, which ends on December 25, contains two major categories. Photos in the first section feature the struggle of Vietnam People’s Army under the leadership of the Vietnam Communist Party, including the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, the General Uprising Movement and the victory in Spring 1968 Gereram Offensive which led to the country’s reunification.

Photos in the second category feature the military in the modern period and leaders who helped form the army.

The exhibition also highlights the soldiers’ activities to support people’s living conditions.

Another exhibition of 200 photos and materials about President Ho and Vietnamese army is also being displayed at HCMC Youth Cultural House through December 22.
