Project to preserve culture of B'rau, Ro Mam ethnic groups
Update: Jan 17, 2013
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has selected two ethnic minority groups in the central highland province of Kon Tum for a culture preservation and development project in 2013.

The two ethnic groups are the B'rau and Ro Mam, with a population of less than 1,000 each. Their tangible and intangible cultures are in danger of falling into oblivion.

B'rau ethnic group resides in Dak Me Village in Bo Y Commune of Ngoc Hoi District while Ro Mam ethnic group lives in Le Village in Mo Rai Commune of Sa Thay District.

These two groups are native residents in the northern tip of the Central Highlands with indigenous and deep rooted traditional cultural characteristics.

Besides B'Rau and Ro Man, the ministry will also cover three other ethnic groups later, namely, Pu Peo in the northern province of Ha Giang; Si La in the northern province of Lai Chau; and O Du in the north-central province of Nghe An.
