As of April 2013, the total number of tourists to the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa reached 220,000. Of this, Russia led the market with nearly 40,000 tourists, a year-on-year rise of 60 percent.
Following the Russian market were Australia (14,000), the US (13,000), England (10,000), France and Germany.
For Asian markets, in April, Chinese tourists were still the most numerous though their numbers were declining. On the contrary, the number of Republic of Korea tourists rose sharply to more than 2,500 this month.
With the launch of two more direct flights from Incheon Airport in Seoul (RoK) to Cam Ranh Airport from early May, the number of RoK tourists is expected to increase strongly until early 2014.
Currently, the Khanh Hoa tourism sector is focusing on improving the quality of accommodation service as well as renewing existing tourism products to serve a large number of both domestic and foreign tourists over the summer travel season, especially for Nha Trang Sea Festival in June.
