A Vietnam-Republic of Korea (RoK) cultural exchange centre was launched in the southern Binh Duong province on June 17, to serve as a bridge to support the traditional friendship and co-operation between the two countries.
The 1,200 sq.m centre, which houses Korean learning rooms and spaces for aerobics and cooking lovers and facilities for teaching staff, also provides a venue for cultural exchanges between Binh Duong and Daejeon city of the RoK as well as vocational training and consultation activities.
At the ceremony, the centre received nearly VND1 billion from Vietnamese and RoK businesses.
On the occasion, the provincial People's Committee presented certificates of merit to units and individuals with outstanding achievements in promoting the friendship and co-operation between Binh Duong and the RoK city in the 2005-2012 period.
On the evening of June 17, a cultural exchange themed "Vietnam-RoK Colours" is going to feature a cuisine street, folk games and an art programme at the cultural centre of the province.
It is reported that Binh Duong is one of the most attractive destinations for RoK investors. At present, more than 500 RoK enterprises are investing in the province with a total capital of over US$1.5 billion.
