(TITC) - To foster development of service and tourism sectors according to the tourism stimulus program 2013 of Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), People's Committee of Ben Tre Province makes plan to implement specific activities to attract tourists to Ben Tre and stimulate their expenditure.
Accordingly, People's Committee of Ben Tre Province will organize the first week of culture - tourism in Ben Tre Province 2013 and the tourism - trade fair - food festival with the theme "Ben Tre tourism - linkage and development". The two events will take place at the hall of People's Committee of Ben Tre Province and Ben Tre Museum from 6th to 12th September 2013 to introduce to domestic and international tourists the achievements of economic, culture, tourism of Ben Tre, especially traditional craft products; and also facilitate for tourism, commercial organizations in the province, the region and nationwide to meet and share experiences, exploit and develop market. Through the events, People Committee of Ben Tre Province furthers to facilitate for tourism businesses, tour operators to attract tourists to visit the historical, tourist sites in Ben Tre Province in order to help the tourists to learn about culture, enjoy local products as well as explore natural beauty of Ben Tre.
The highlight of the series of events is the tourism - trade fair - food festival with about 300 stalls, including areas: the exhibition to introduce the achievements of economic - culture - society; the area to display and introduce tourism products; the general commercial area; the amusement area with folk games, the music stage and the food area. In addition, in the framework of the fair, there are the workshop on "Linking and developing tourist routes and sites in the east coastal area of the Mekong Delta"; the first hotel receptionist and tour guide contest in Ben Tre Province 2013...
The first week of culture - tourism in Ben Tre Province 2013 and the tourism – trade fair - food festival are opportunity for tourism businesses, manufacturing facilities in the province to research and learn about demand of tourists to improve quality and competitiveness of products and businesses in domestic and international markets, thereby expand market, increase sales, attract tourists, contribute to economic-socio development of Ben Tre Province and also the Mekong Delta.
