Photo exhibition about the Ede ethnic people in Dak Lak province opens

As many of 176 photos about the daily life of the Ede ethnic minority group are on display at an exhibition which opened in Buon Ma Thuot city, in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak, on April 15.

The exhibition is the initial result of a research programme by the Institute for Studies of Society, Economy and Environment in coordination with Dak Lak provincial museum and the Ede ethnic community according to the “photovoice” method.

Photos depict cultural and economic life of the Ede ethnic minority in the province, special cultural identities and changes due to economic pressures and cultural interactions.

Earlier, participants at a seminar mentioned the necessities to promote further study about the Ede ethnic group as well as other ethnic groups indigenous to the Central Highlands, to be a foundation for development programmes in the Central Highlands for sustainable development.

The exhibition will run until August 15.
