This was the first time Minister of Culture, Sports & Tourism of Viet Nam has visited Azerbaijan, which aimed to implement the bilateral cooperation agreement of culture, sports and tourism achieved by the two sides on the occasion of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visiting Viet Nam on 19 May 2014.

Within the framework of the visit, Minister Hoang Tuan Anh held talks with Minister of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan, Mr. Garayev Abulfas and Minister of Youth & Sports of Azerbaijan, Mr. Azad Rahimov. At the talks, the two sides affirmed traditional friendly relationship between Viet Nam and Azerbaijan which was established by late President Ho Chi Minh and late President of Azerbaijan Heydar Aiyev.

Besides, an agreement on “Cooperation of Culture, Art between Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism of Viet Nam and Ministry of Culture & Tourism of Azerbaijan” has been inked to strengthen the bilateral relationship. Accordingly, the two countries will coordinate to hold Cultural Days of Azerbaijan Republic in Viet Nam in 2015 and Viet Nam Cultural Days in Azerbaijan Republic in 2016 with series of attractive activities such as art performance, art exhibition, film screening and tourism promotion programs.

Viet Nam and Azerbaijan also agreed to intensify the exchange of all level delegations, students and facilitate art troupes to take part in international art & cultural festivals held in the two countries. Especially, the exchange of tourism businesses and media agencies was decided to deploy in 2014 which aims to introduce tourism potential and promote tourism on mass media of the two countries.
