Update: Aug 10, 2016
The World Records Union (Worldkings) has announced the list of top 100 famous food and beverages from countries all over the world, including ‘pho’ (noodles served with beef or chicken), ‘bun cha’ (rice noodles served with grilled pork) and ‘banh mi’ (Vietnamese sandwich).

It is considered a proud reward after multiple nominations by the Viet Nam Records Organisation.

The Worldkings wrote that ‘Food and beverages always bring a source of inspiration to people and also reflect the culture of a nation. That is the reason why World Records Union cooperated with Viet Nam Book of Records in collecting and classifying the Top 100 famous food and beverages of countries all over the world.’

The organisation described ‘pho’ as a traditional dish and one of the most typical dishes of Vietnamese cuisine.

Meanwhile ‘bun cha’ is described as a famous specialty of Hanoi. It is a perfect combination of roast pork, salad (salad, green papaya) and sauces.

‘Banh mi’ also received praise from many international tourists. The sandwich is really popular in Viet Nam. It has very different forms depending on where the visitors are in Viet Nam, according to the Worldkings.

Some other dishes in Southeast Asia on the list include Nasi Goreng, Rendang (Indonesia); Khao Niaw (Laos); Laksa, Satay (Malaysia); Fish Amok, Insects, Nom banh chok: Khmer noodles (Cambodia); Frog Porridge, Chili Crabs (Singapore); and Mango Sticky Rice, Pad Thai, Som Tam (Thailand).
