The Monument of President Ho Chi Minh – A typical cultural artwork of Cao Bang City

(TITC) - The monument of President Ho Chi Minh is located in the center of Cao Bang City. This is a meaningful cultural work of politics, history and humanism, showing the passion of Cao Bang’s people towards the beloved Uncle Ho.

On January 28th, 1941, after 30 years of leaving his hometown and traveling around the world to find the way to free the country from being occupied, Uncle Ho came back home country at Milestone 108. He chose Pac Bo, Cao Bang to be the first stop to lead and steer the revolutionary boat of the nation. Here, he directly led the Vietnamese revolution, made many important decisions and together with the Party bringing prosperity to the nation and to the people. While driving the revolution in Cao Bang, he considered this land as his second home

In honor of and respect for the great merits and contributions of President Ho Chi Minh, along with the wishes of the Party Committee and all ethnic groups in the province, in 1994, Cao Bang province had submitted their request to the Secretariat of the Communist Party to be allowed to construct the Monument of the President in the right center of Cao Bang City that the people in the nationwide and visitors may come to admire and commemorate his merits while visiting the province.

Cao Bang's people were rich in patriotic traditions which had been even strongly stimulated since the day Uncle Ho returned. They followed the revolution people’s words to liberate themselves and that helped to liberate their home country. To the people of Cao Bang province, the image of the National Old Father has always shined on their ways to the future and is a great belief in the hearts of every generation of people.

President Ho Chi Minh's Monument in the center of Cao Bang city is an important and huge work of art and culture which illustrates a great socio-political image. The Monument was built on a large scale at the respectful location which is harmonious with the architectural space and natural landscape, showing the unique and typical images of Uncle Ho while he was in Cao Bang. On the occasion of the main holidays, gatherings, meetings, the offering of incense, flowers, merits reporting or unions’ activities, etc. are often taken place at the space of the monument. This is an attractive sight-seeing site to the visitors in Cao Bang City.

The construction began on September 2nd 1998. Uncle Ho's monument is carved from a stone block of 6m high, 3m high pedestal, 10 ton weighed. Standing on the Monument, Uncle Ho is majestic but simple with his vast forehead, his relaxed style, his gentle face, his sharp eyes and the far-flung view cover the whole country in the basic Nung clothes with rubber sandals. The pedestal of the monument stylized the mountain of Marx and Lenin stream which surrounds by a panorama of bonsai, stone paving, water tanks and fountains of nearly 2,000m2. Uncle Ho's monument was inaugurated right on the occasion of the 59th anniversary of the day he returned to Vietnam (January 28, 1941 - January 28, 2000) and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3rd 1930 - February 3rd 2000).
