Moreover, Hau Giang is also home to many ethnic groups such as Viet, Hoa, Cham, Khmer with rich cultural identity and a lot of famous tourist sites such as Phung Hiep Floating Market, Long My Relic Site, Tam Vu Relic Site, Uncle Ho Temple…
With the tourism potentials and advantages, in the recent time, the province has implemented many activities to promote tourism potentials to tourists such as: putting into operation "green" and "red" tourist sites, organizing many large-scale sports activities and Mekong Delta Trade Fair 2013... So, Hau Giang tourism has achieved considerable successes, especially in the number of tourists. According to statistics, in 2012, Hau Giang welcomed nearly 121,000 tourist arrivals, including 1,500 international ones. In the first 6 months of 2013, more than 79,770 tourist arrivals visited to Hau Giang, up 18% over the same period last year.
Although the number of tourists increases, Hau Giang tourism still has many restrictions, for example: the difficulty in calling investment to develop tourism; lack of specific tourism products, poor tourism infrastructure...
To overcome these problems and stimulate Hau Giang tourism, according to Hau Giang's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the coming time, Hau Giang will bring out specific solutions such as: strengthening tourism promotion activities, designing specific souvenirs of Hau Giang; linking with tour operators to develop tour programs and cooperating with journalists to introduce the tours; investing to build new tourist sites including: Vam Cai Sinh Victory Monument (Ward 7, Vi Thanh City); community-based tourism model in Cau Duc Area (Thanh Thang Hamlet, Hoa Tien Commune, Vi Thanh City); publishing Hau Giang tourist map to introduce the location, potential of the "œgreen", "red" tourist sites in the province; organizing cultural-culinary activities in the framework of the fair and exhibition towards celebration of victory of military and civilian Zone 9 (1973 - 2013) and the 10th anniversary of Hau Giang Province; mobilizing tourism enterprises in the province to launch promotional programs for tourists ...
