(TITC) - According to statistics of the Thua Thien - Hue Province's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the first nine months of 2013, the province attracted 1.998 million tourist arrivals, reaching 79.92 percent of the target of receiving 2.5 million tourist arrivals, including over 752,000 international arrivals (from some main markets such as Thailand, France, Australia, UK, Germany).
The province welcomed 1.370 million over-night tourist arrivals, increasing by 2.4 percent over the same period last year, achieving 74 percent of target for 2013; of which 564,000 and 806,000 were international tourist arrivals and domestic tourist trippers, respectively. The average length of stay was 2.03 days. Total tourism receipts estimated VND 1,842 billion, 11.3 percent higher than that in the same period last year, including 61.78 percent of receipts from international tourists. In addition, social receipts from tourism reached over VND 4,600 billion.
Thua Thien - Hue tourism will have chance to get more positive results in the coming time thanks to the reopening of Phu Bai airport on 20th September and many tourism stimulus program and tourism promotion of the province.
