Tokyo City promotes tourism in Ha Noi

(TITC) – From January 26-27, 2015, Bureau of Industrial and Labor Affairs, Tokyo Metropolitan Government collaborated with Ha Noi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize conference on Tokyo City Promotion 2015. 

The event was held for the second time in Ha Noi not only to introduce Tokyo’s image to Ha Noi citizens but also to contribute to boosting cultural exchange and strengthening close ties between Viet Nam and Japan.

At the press conference on January 26, representatives of Tokyo City Government and Japanese businesses introduced famous tourist attractions, shopping centers, restaurants and entertainment activities in Tokyo City such as Asakusa-Ryogoku areas with Edo’s culture and history, nearby the 634m-high Tokyo Sky Tree Tower; Shinjuku-Ginza-Roppongi streets with various shopping centers and restaurants…

Speaking at the event, Deputy Director of Ha Noi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr. Truong Minh Tien stressed the prospects of tourism cooperation between the two countries, especially since Joint Declaration on Tourism Cooperation and Tourism Cooperation Joint Committee was established in 2005, tourists exchange between Viet Nam and Japan has been increasing significantly. In 2013, Viet Nam welcomed over 600,000 Japanese arrivals and 647,000 arrivals in 2014; the number of Vietnamese tourists to Japan reached 85,000 arrivals in 2013 and 124,000 arrivals in 2014. In the coming time, tourism industries of the two countries will continue to implement bilateral cooperation on tourism promotion in order to reach the target of welcoming 1 million Japanese arrivals to Viet Nam and 200,000 Vietnamese arrivals to Japan in 2017.

In the framework of the promotion event, Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises also had trade talks on development and sale of tourism products on January 27.
