Quang Nam Heritage Festival becomes domestically and internationally popular due to rich and moreish art performances and activities.
Hoi An Ancient Town
According to Director of Quang Nam Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Dinh Hai, the 6th Heritage Festival under theme Quang Nam – Connecting world heritages will be held in the localities of Hoi An, Tam Ky, Duy Xuyen, Dien Ban, Tay Giang, Phu Ninh, Tien Phuoc and Nam Tra My.
The opening ceremony of Quang Nam Heritage Festival 2017 will occur at Tam Thanh Beach (Tam Ky City) at 8pm on June 9th, 2017. The closing ceremony will take place at Hoai River Square (Hoi An City) at 8pm on June 14th, 2017.
Hoi An Light Festival, from January 27th to February 8th, will start the event. It is an art performance of light and sound that will make Hoi An ancient town magical, shimmering and glamorous. The festival is funded by a foreign company and estimated at VND22 billion.
In addition to the festival of light, the 6th Quang Nam Heritage Festival includes other events such as International Kite Festival, International Choir Competition, International Food Festival, Viet Nam and World Silk Festival, Windsurfing World Championships, Open Viet Nam Sailboat Race and Canoeing National Awards at Phu Ninh Lake.
The programme of “Exchange between the World Heritage Sites” will be the highlight of the festival. It includes art exhibitions and intangibly cultural performances by the nations with the UNESCO world heritage.
At the 6th Quang Nam Heritage Festival 2017, visitors will have chances to discover the majestic Truong Son Range, the Pomu heritage forest, the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail, traditional cultural characteristics and ritual performances to set up the Neu tree from 20 Vietnamese ethnicities.
