Summer Sea Festival opens in Quy Nhon

The 2017 Summer Sea Festival, themed ‘Quy Nhon - Binh Dinh - Back to memorial sea city’ kicked off in Quy Nhon City in the south-central province of Binh Dinh on June 17.

The opening ceremony focused on introducing the beautiful beaches of Binh Dinh, with the participation of singers from Ho Chi Minh City, the Provincial Cultural Centre, Binh Dinh Traditional Martial Arts Centre and other art troupes.

The festival, which will run until September 2, features many cultural and sporting events, such as a futsal tournament for children, the 2017 Binh Dinh Golden Chef, an art exhibition, the 2017 National Beach Volleyball Championship, a competition for the Binh Dinh talent tourism guide 2017 and a workshop on ‘Solutions to attract international visitors and improve service quality in Binh Dinh province’.

In 2016, the number of tourists to Binh Dinh reached more than three million, up 22% from 2015. The festival is expected to help promote the image and tourism trademark of Binh Dinh Province as well as attract more domestic and foreign tourists over the coming years.

The event is just one of Binh Dinh's many efforts made to develop the localities tourism industry into a popular destinations for domestic and foreign tourists.
