My Son Sanctuary is a must for Quang Nam trip
Update: Mar 08, 2012
Located 69 kilometers from Danang City, a cluster of Cham towers lie in a narrow valley surrounded by mountains in My Son Village in Duy Phu Commune in the central province of Quang Nam’s Duy Xuyen District.

The ruins of 70 towers are still present despite the devastation from natural disasters and wars, with about 20 towers left mostly intact. The area was recognized as a world cultural heritage site by UNESCO in 1999. Most of the area was constructed in the 10th century and it was the religious center for the capital of the Champa Kingdom. Hereunder are some photos at the site taken by The Saigon Times Daily’s contributor Huynh Nam.
