Sa Pa to open walking street on weekend

(TITC) - The Sa Pa District’s People’s Committee of Lao Cai Province has decided to develop Cau May Street into a walking street for visitors.

Accordingly, vehicles will not be allowed only on Friday and Saturday as to ensure the stability of local daily life.


On weekends, local residents will be allowed to sell souvenirs, brocades, and food along the walking street. The opening of Cau May walking Street is expected to create a cultural space, and to promote cultural beauty to tourists. Tourists can enjoy sightseeing and shopping conveniently.

The opening of the walking street will also help the artisans and local people to promote traditional crafts, cuisine culture and contribute to the development of Sa Pa’s trade and tourism sector.
