Viet Nam attends International Tourism Fair ITB Berlin 2015

(TITC) - On 3 March 2015, International Tourism Fair ITB 2015 was officially opened at CityCube Berlin Convention Centre (Berlin, Germany). German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier attended and had the opening speech, which highlights the role of tourism in promoting cultural diversity.

As one of the most prestigious and largest tourism fairs in the world, ITB is an opportunity for tourism businesses to meet and co-operate and also for visitors to find out and choose their own destinations. ITB 2015 takes place from 4 to 8 March 2015, attracts the participations of 180 countries and territories with 600 international buyers; 10,000 sellers; 20,000 seminar visitors; 50,000 public visitors and 110,000 trade visitors.

In ITB 2015, booth of Viet Nam tourism has an area of ​​135m², gathers 24 Vietnamese tour operators and hotels. To respond National Tourism Year – Thanh Hoa 2015 – Connecting World Heritage, the booth of Viet Nam tourism in ITB 2015 is built with the theme "Viet Nam - the country of heritage".

In the common booth of Viet Nam tourism, besides promotion activities, traditional art performances… Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) held a cocktail party on 4 March 2015 to thank international tourism enterprises sending tourists to Viet Nam as well as create opportunities for Vietnamese and international enterprises to exchange and expand business cooperation. The party had the attendances of Vietnamese Ambassador in Germany Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh, German Parliamentarian Jungen Klinke, and international tourism enterprises and media.

After the party, on 5 March, VNAT and Viet Nam Tourism Association in collaboration with Vietnam Airlines held a press conference to introduce new tourism products and services as well as major events of Viet Nam in 2015 and 2016.

Speaking at the press conference, Director General of VNAT Nguyen Van Tuan emphasized, with the vision of sustainable tourism development, with the aim of gradually positioning Viet Nam as an attractive destination in the world tourism map, Viet Nam tourism continues to focus on improving service quality, develop tourism infrastructures, create specific tourism products according to the potential of culture, eco, and marine tourism. Europe and especially Germany are defined as important source markets of Viet Nam tourism. In 2014, Germany is the source market of Viet Nam tourism with the highest growth rate, 45.7% compared with 2013. Viet Nam with timeless charm, Viet Nam tourism - safeness, friendliness, quality - is waiting to welcome tourists all over the world, especially Germany and European countries.
