(TITC) – In the framework of activities celebrating Viet Nam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2017, from 5-7 July, the 2nd Viet Nam-Laos border Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival will take place in Son La Province.

The festival aims to promote potentials in culture, sport, tourism and cultural heritage of the two countries to international friends and contribute to preserving and honoring cultural identity of ethnic groups; besides boosting tourism development of Viet Nam – Laos border provinces.
The event is expected to attract the participation of artists, actors and actresses, athletes from 9 provinces of Viet Nam and 10 provinces of Laos.
A series of activities will be organized in the framework of the festival such as public art performance; traditional fashion show; reappearing traditional rituals or festivals; introduction of outstanding regional cultural and tourism products; photos exhibition on people and potentials of Viet Nam-Laos’s border area; sports activities; organizing tours visiting Son La City, Viet Nam-Laos historical sites, etc.
The opening ceremony is scheduled to take place at 8h00 pm on 5 July, at Son La Convention Centre and is broadcasted live on Viet Nam Television Channel 1 and VOV channel.
