Conference “Golden time to discover Vietnamese beauty”: Strongly boost the domestic tourism market

(TITC) - On May 16, 2020, the conference “Golden time to discover Vietnamese beauty” was taken place in Sam Son, Thanh Hoa. This event attracted a large number of participants inclucing leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, key tourism localities, and tourism associations and businesses.
The stimulus program is expected to make domestic tourists boom in the near future, giving priority to traveling to Viet Nam even when the Covid-19 translation is controlled globally.
 
 
With the aim of “Vietnamese people travel Viet Nam”, the conference discussed many important issues for the tourism industry, including:
 
-  Promote attractive tourist destinations and products; reopen tourism, ensure safety and prevent epidemics.
 
- Develop and deploy tourism stimulus packages: Introduce packages of quality tourism products and services at reasonable prices with the incentives and commitments of service providers. 
 
- Identify consumer demand and behavior of Vietnamese tourists after the pandemic.
 
 
In the coming time, tourists tend to choose nearby destinations, traveling with family, small group, open places and wide space. 
 
 
According to Ms. Emily Nguyen, Google’s Asia-Pacific Representative, from mid-April to mid-May 2020, searches for domestic travel keywords increased compared to the first three months of the year. The number of searches for domestic flights increased by 85% over the same period in 2019. In particular, the types of coastal tourism and nature exploration have much been sought after. The destinations most searched for in the past 30 days were Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Da Lat, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Hue, Quy Nhon...
 
In the last 6 weeks, the number of searches related to island tourism in Viet Nam doubled. The most searched destinations were Vung Tau, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Quy Nhon, Ha Long Bay ... Also in the past 6 weeks, the number of searches related to parks and national parks in Viet Nam increased over 25%. People paid attention to places like Phong Nha - Ke Bang, Ba Vi National Park, Cuc Phuong National Park, Son Doong Cave, Cat Tien National Park...
 
 
Many opinions suggested that localities should work out synchronous solutions, support the cost of visiting for a longer time. Many opinions highlight the importance of communication and promotion through digital platforms.
 
At the conference, localities also announced tourism stimulus programs to be deployed in the coming time./.
