Calligraphy exhibition to open in Hanoi

A major exhibition of calligraphy will take place at the Temple of Literature in Hanoi to celebrate the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi from October 4-14.

Two hundred and fifty calligraphic pictures on paper, pottery and bamboo will be shown.

The exhibition also displays a 217-kilogram book which is 1.6 meters long, 1.1 meter wide and a bronze work “Chieu doi do” (Proclamation on moving capital) which is three meters long.

Visitors to the exhibition will be able to watch artists perform calligraphy, listen to legends and historical stories about calligraphy.

Many famous Vietnamese calligraphers will participate in the exhibition.
